Industrial Gears

posted in: Industrial Hemp 0

Industrial Gears are basically toothed shaped machinery part such as wheel or cylinder. Gear is a component that rotates by applying force to the teeth of another device to produce mechanical advantage. These are mechanical machines to transmit motion or change the speed. Various mechanical advantages includes automobile transmission of motor or any other vehicles. Vehicle engines and transmissions has gears which drives the engine to move into motion or speed. Other example of products having gears are pendulum clocks and Hand Mixer or Mixer Grinder etc. Gears also adjusts the direction of rotation, gears are designed in such a way to increase or decrease force or speed.

The meshing of gears to another gear teeth means the circumferences moves at the same rate of the the motion or force. Since rotational speed is proportional to a wheel’s circumferential speed divided by its radius, therefore the larger the radius of a gear, the slower will be its rotational speed, when meshed with a gear of given size and speed. In any engine or motor gears are set according to its speed.

Industrial gears are of various types such as spur gears, helical gears, double helical gears, bevel gears, worm gears, pinion gears, spiral bevel gears etc. Some of them are discussed below:

* Spur gears: These gears are the most common gear which somewhat looks like cylinder or disk. The teeth of these gears are set in such a way so that it is aligned parallel to the axis of the rotation. These gears should to be fitted to parallel axles, only then it rotates together correctly.

* Helical gears: Helical gears are opposite to spur gears and much more refined. These gears are set at an angle and not parallel to the axis of rotation. Helical gears runs more smoothly and

* Double helical gears: Double helical gears are of much more advantageous than helical gears, it also gives the same smoothness as helical gears but along with added value of greater strength in the motion of its teeth and also it does not give side ways force.

* Bevel gears: Bevel Gears are majorly used for the shafts from the main shaft to the back shaft. These are fitted in the rear axle of motorcars and also used in the drive of many machine tools.

* Worm gear: These gears are basically used for wheel gear in any motor vehicles. It is method of driving two shafts together which gives much more efficiency than any other gears. These are either single or multi-start threaded.

Industrial gears are useful for various applications in the many industries. Some of them are mentioned below:

* Cement Plants Industry
* Petrochemical Industry
* Sugar Mills
* Power Industry
* Mining Industry
* Steel Rolling Mills
* Oil refineries
* Sugar Mill Drives

Industrial gears are of great mechanical advantages, these advantages are as follows:

* Higher loading capacity.
* Higher efficiency and reliability.
* Cost effectiveness
* Efficient Quality
* Maintenance optimizing the performance of the gears.

With all the talk of global warming and going green it is a pertinent subject to discuss within the context of trade and production. While most of our pollution comes from industry and farming followed by transport it is important to note the shift towards a carbon credit system. This seems to me to be a sly way of turning previously worthless commodities into a tradeable item. It also allows those companies that are polluting to continue to do so by merely changing some of their investment strategies towards buying carbon credits.

[How will we switch to a green world?]

If you think about this issue closely you will find that it would then be possible to convert all resources into carbon credits. National Parks for example would be invested in by the private sector to offset any pollution their company creates. It could also include unused land (sometimes fertile farming land) being used to grow permanent trees and therefore reducing the overall capacity of a nations farming output. Is this a wise strategy when we are experiencing a world shortage in food production? This comes at the same time as ethanol becomes mandatory in some fuel mixes. For those of you who do not know ethanol is mainly produced using either corn or sugar cane, reducing the percentage of these commodities available for consumption.

The green movement is misled if it thinks that global warming is its messiah in terms of changing the way the world works. It is only through ground roots change that true stabilization of our environment can be attained. This is still not taking into account the huge changes that occur naturally in the Earth’s continuing cycles. What about ice ages? I am not denying the huge impact of humans on their environment though I am also not denying the huge impact the environment has on humans.

While we advance more in terms of technology and understanding we are still vulnerable to our environments. Harsh winters still occur. Heat waves. Tsunamis. Hurricanes. The list goes on. Human society also develops in relation to its environment. It affects language, food, clothing, housing, farming, everything. It is why in places like Australia we are still learning to use this unique environment correctly. Other places have had thousands of years to develop their agriculture, while Australia was settled by Europeans with specific ways of farming that they brought with them. A European farm in a completely unrelated environment.

While our environment has managed so far to keep producing, it is showing some signs of hitting a breaking point. Some indicators so far have included: increased salinity, mass erosion, empty rivers, blue-green algae and of course chemical and other pollutant levels in city river systems. The solution can not be to stop all agriculture and industrial practice as that would be equivalent to a national suicide. Rather it is to use these industries to monitor and rectify the problems facing them. It is in a farmer’s interest to have a sustainable farm whether it is to produce crops or feed livestock, it must be “environmentally healthy” to sustain production. It is improving and repairing the environment that will increase production rather than hinder it.

Likewise with industrial production, as they will find the increased efficiency that comes with going green (rather than buying carbon credits) will save huge sums in production costs. I do not support industry as oppossed to the environment (quite the opposite actually) but I think there has to be a happy medium.

I would see the best solution as more localised production on a smaller scale to begin with in order to create a diverse production. This would also provide a buffer against market changes particularly in a diverse farm. This is because while some commodity prices might be down, another commodity produced by the farm may be higher in order to componsate for the loss. This localised production would see better prices for the community and also fresher produce being delivered. This also saves a massive amount on transport. These are all options for the modern era where it will probably come down to a “sink or swim” solution in places like Australia where our environment is already at breaking point.

If we continue with a carbon trading scheme it will become just like the stock market and subject to declines, losses and manipulation. This is using an old world solution in a modern era where the shape of the old markets are quickly blurring into something that could resemble more of what Adam Smith was talking about. Supply and demand. With local producers providing primarily for the local market.

I hope this has given you all food for thought. This article is also available on http://www.kjwriteleft.com/beta.

Industrial tools

posted in: Industrial Hemp 0

Industrial tools are what help keep economies growing and societies prospering. Since humans first discovered how to forge tools they have been able to leverage their natural abilities and have, over time, made the world as we know it. Whether it is pliers, tongs, or Hammer Keys, industrial tools expand the capacity of human work and have helped bring forth the great material wealth of contemporary civilization.

Every day we observe a great deal of industrial activity. In some cases, we see workingmen building a new office building; in other cases, we see men and women working in an auto body repair shop. No matter where we look, we see persons busy at work; and most of the time, they are using industrial tools to perform their jobs. Tools, even the simplest of tools, multiply the power of human effort. In heavy industries such as steel, petroleum, rail road, and vehicle production, industrial tools are indispensible. One cannot, for example, build a large, heavy, complex piece of machinery without hammer keys; this kind of tool is required for getting fitting things into their exact place and for carrying out the crucial work that is required to shape particular material into its end use.

The advent of computers and other advanced electronic devices has not made industrial tools irrelevant. The fact is heavy machining and heavy manufacturing is still done; in other words, persons still make things, such as cars, boats, airplanes, tall buildings, and as long as they continue to do so there will be a need for industrial tools. Indeed, there is often too much attention given to how much computers, electronics, and information technology have changed the world. The impact of such ‘soft’ tools is still nowhere near that of industrial and other heavy-machinery tools. These latter created and continue to sustain the modern world. You may be able to design a new automobile or marine vehicle on a computer, but someone still needs to build it; and that task is left to persons who put their hands and their wits together, and pick up the industrial tools necessary to actually produce the new car or new boat.

When looking for the best producer of high-quality tools, one ought to look at manufacturers that have a proven track record. There is no sense in investing in industrial tools that cannot perform to specifications. This is particularly important because many heavy machinery jobs demand that the tools used are precise and reliable. Errors in size and shape or sudden failures in a tool can lead to catastrophic results in the workplace. There is no room for error when it comes to industrial tools.

Finding and selecting high-quality tools to do such work is where the ‘soft tool of the worldwide web comes into play. Using the web enables one to search for and compare various tool manufacturers. Why spend time and energy driving around looking for the best tool manufacturers when you can bring them all to you, so to speak? Finding the right tools may just be a click away.

Industrial vortex tube

posted in: Industrial Hemp 0

The vortex tube has been called with various names such as Ranque Vortex Tube, Hilsch Tube, Ranque-Hilsch Tube; based from two pioneering physicists who initiated the invention and development of the device. This simple yet multi-purpose mechanical device has also been referred to as Maxwell’s Demon, derived from James Clerk Maxwell, an eighteenth century Scottish physicist who theorized the possibility of creating a vortex force within a mechanical device.

When George H. Ranque discovered the device in early 1930’s he immediately decided to market the device, but failed. Ranque’s creation and further niche business on vortex tubes did not succeed. It was Rudolph Hilsch who made new developments on the device. In 1945, Hilsch recreated and marketed the tube, along with a scientific journal which was widely-read by the public and prospective clients. Throughout the years more and more improvements were applied to vortex tubes. It was tested on different channels such as water, steam, propane gas and natural gas. Moreover, vortex tubes were also proven to be effective device for separating gas compounds such as oxygen and nitrogen and carbon dioxide and helium.

A vortex tube is comprised of a nozzle, diaphragm, chamber, hot and cold tubes and a cone-shaped nozzle at the opening of the hot tube. The size of this apparatus varies depending in the application or operation where it will be used. The nozzle design of the tube determines the velocity, mass flow, and inlet losses. Chamber is a part of the nozzle where the pressurized gas will be injected tangentially. The diaphragm is situated beside the nozzle and at the edge of the cold tube.

If air is supplied to the mechanical device, the air enters through the nozzle and turns at 90 degrees angle and swirls past through the chamber and up to the cone-shape valve. A parcel of the gas escapes. This is the hot air stream. A parcel of the gas is blocked by the valve and heads back to the opposite direction with a lower pressure. The air stream escapes the opposite opening of the vortex tube, and becomes the cold stream.

The temperature of vortex tubes on both openings is changeable through a control valve attached to the hot air stream tube. The lowest temperature of the cold end is at -50 degrees Fahrenheit and the highest temperature at the hot end is up to 260 degrees Fahrenheit. A vortex tube created for commercial used can produce refrigeration of 6,000  BTU.

Industrial Hemp and Medical Marijuana Heat Up Ballot as Election Day 2012 Nears

posted in: Hemp Legislation 0

Washington, DC (PRWEB) October 09, 2012

Amongst the activists in support of industrial hemp, Bruce Perlowin, CEO of Hemp, Inc. (OTC: HEMP), the first and only all-hemp, publicly-traded company in US history, has been relentless at arming people with the facts on hemp, in order for them to make more intelligent decisions.

Armed with knowledge, voters in Montana, Colorado, Oregon, Arkansas, Washington and Massachusetts will have the opportunity to flex their muscles and voice their drug war dissent at the ballot box. Industrial hemp bills were specifically introduced this year in Colorado, New Hampshire, New Jersey and New Mexico. More information on the 2012 state legislation can be found on the VoteHemp website. In a nutshell, a YES vote would enact the proposed law eliminating state criminal and civil penalties related to the medical use of marijuana, allowing patients meeting certain conditions to obtain marijuana produced and distributed by new state-regulated centers or, in specific hardship cases, to grow marijuana for their own use, while a NO vote would make no change in existing laws.

Former representative Tom Tancredo and Republican Michael Baumgartner (US Senate) are giving the legalization of marijuana their support. According to Reuters, Baumgartner and Tancredo “could help sway conservative voters.”

Forging a path in the industrial hemp industry, while educating consumers on the many uses of industrial hemp, Hemp, Inc. (OTC: HEMP) (http://www.hemp.com), is also producing hemp-based products proven to increase the body’s overall health and performance. The company boasts HerbaGenix™ nutraceuticals (http://www.herbagenix.com); BasicHemp (http://www.basichemp.com), their protein shakes brand; and, custom-branded MJ Lover for Him and MJ Lover for Her (http://www.mjlover.com) which is derived from a blend of organic nutrients, herbs, and vitamins including hemp extract (0.00% THC) and AFA blue-green algae which is known for its healthful effects.

Not only has the company been flooding the market with health products, its CEO, Bruce Perlowin is quite the philanthropist, according to inside sources. “Bruce Perlowin is an interesting character. Very philanthropic. His journey reminds me of the ‘Catch Me If You Can’ movie or an American bad boy gone good,” says David Tobias of Hemp, Inc. (OTC: HEMP).

Perlowin donates to Dr. Patch Adams’ of Gesundheit! Institute who is building a 50 million dollar, free children’s hospital in West Virginia. The institute is a not-for-profit health care organization chartered under the Nonprofit Corporation Act of the District of Columbia, and is a project in holistic medical care based on the belief that one cannot separate the health of the individual from the health of the family, the community, the world, and the health care system itself (see http://www.PatchAdams.org). Other efforts in his mission to change the way Americans live, by creating a more natural and sustainable environment, include the Cash Hyde Foundation Fundraiser with Tommy Chong (http://www.CashHydeFoundation.com); The CanDo Kids Project (http://www.CanDoProject.com); C Bar J Horsehaven Rescue (cbarjrescue.wetpaint.com); Spread Peace USA (http://www.facebook.com/spreadpeaceusa); and, Keepers of the Wild (http://www.KeepersOfTheWild.com).

The upcoming election is also prompting savvy investors to invest in solid, substantial companies such as Hemp, Inc. (OTC: HEMP); Rapid Fire Marketing, Inc.; Cannabis Science, Inc.; Medical Marijuana Inc.; and, Grow Life, Inc. (previously Phototron Holdings, Inc.). Two years ago, Prop 19 in California sought to legalize recreational use of marijuana. That caused a feeding frenzy for marijuana company stock from October 11 to 19, 2010. Even Health Sciences Group, that appeared to be out of business during that time, spiked 200% (from .0001 to .0002). The strongest of the companies, Hemp, Inc. (OTC: HEMP), bounced from less than one cent to 4.8 cents in that week, a spike of 473% (from .0085 to 0.487) due to the massive publicity surrounding the marijuana issue. Other spikes included Medical Marijuana, Inc. at 480% (from .02 to .1159); Rapid Fire Marketing at 50% (from .002 to .003); and, Cannabis Science, Inc. at 137% (from .092 to .218). If industrial hemp and medical marijuana are legalized, hemp stock may inevitably go through the roof.

Projected Mass Growth Curve on the Rise for Industrial Hemp and Medical Marijuana Stocks

posted in: Hemp Legislation 0

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) October 12, 2012

Bruce Perlowin, CEO of Hemp, Inc. (OTC: HEMP) and industrial hemp veteran, whose company led the last pre-election growth curve back in 2009 with a 480% increase (http://www.hemp.com), gave insight on when he thought the spike this month will start and why.

According to Bruce Perlowin, “Two weeks before the election is when all the action starts. We have medical marijuana on the ballot in Arkansas, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Illinois, New York, Massachusetts, and Ohio. You have industrial hemp on the ballot in Colorado, New Hampshire, New Jersey and New Mexico. Then they’re trying to legalize the recreational use of marijuana in Colorado, Washington and Oregon. The activist organizations (Marijuana Policy Project, Law Enforcement Against Prohibition, Americans for Safe Access, NORML, Students for Sensible Drug Policy and many other groups) that run the campaigning for legalization have a very particular strategy. Predictable and extremely effective, none-the-less. They wait until 2 weeks before the election and then start a massive media campaign… an all out blitz to educate people so they can vote yes. This doesn’t allow the opposition time to respond with their negative and false propaganda. The opposition can be the prison guard union that can lose 800,000 prisoners a year who are incarcerated for marijuana. Consequently, the massive media campaigning makes people outside our industry aware of this huge industry that’s growing phenomenally. Now you have everyone looking for investment opportunities in an industry that’s soaring.”

How would the legalization of marijuana benefit the American people and the economy? Industry analysts believe there will be a creation of a new and highly profitable agricultural industry, increased trade opportunities, an increase in the gross national product (GNP), improved environmental conditions, new tax resources, and reduced costs with respect to enforcement of current laws. With all eyes on the industrial hemp and medical marijuana industry, coupled with the benefits of legalization, savvy investors are beginning to invest heavily.

Hemp, Inc.’s (OTC: HEMP) CEO, Bruce Perlowin, has accumulated over twenty-two million shares of stock in Rapid Fire Marketing, Inc.; eight hundred thousand in Cannabis Science, Inc.; two million in Grow Life, Inc.; and, twenty-one million shares in Medical Marijuana, Inc. Even though his favorite is his own (Hemp, Inc. (OTC: HEMP)) he has started strategically investing in other marijuana industry stocks. “I know these stocks are going to go through the roof,” says Perlowin.

While the average non-investor may not have a clue, market awareness surrounding the industrial hemp and medical marijuana industries is informative and can be very persuasive. When all the pre-election mass media begins in earnest, entrepreneurs and business people of all kinds want to get into the industry. Some think about opening dispensaries, growing medical marijuana, or getting paid good wages as trimmers. Everyone, from real estate investors to other hard-hit sectors of the economy, starts sleuthing the industry.

While some are courageous enough to open dispensaries and grow, most tend to play it safe and invest in marijuana stocks. Simply put, it is a mature and aged industry reality in the American marketplace. The massive publicity will not only attract the average American investor, it will also attract newbie investors (from your auto mechanic workers to your stay-at-home moms) and foreign interests. “Everybody wants in on ‘the next big thing’. Think of it as another dot.com explosion without the crash for at least another decade or two, if ever,” says Perlowin.

He adds, “The smart investor will start accumulating now before that explosion begins.”

Perlowin’s investment strategy seems to be already paying off. The two million shares he bought of Grow Life, Inc. the first ten days in October increased 39.9% on October 11, 2012 (that was the date the pre-election spike started two years ago when Prop 19 in California was on the ballot). That’s over a $ 10,000 profit from just one stock. Other analysts agree with Perlowin that it’s just the beginning of this particular company’s pre-election spike.

Overall, Perlowin and industry analysts alike are betting the growth spurt will start between October 16 and October 23, 2012 and keep rising… especially if legislation passes.

Forging a path in the industrial hemp industry, while educating consumers on the many uses of industrial hemp, Hemp, Inc. (OTC: HEMP) (http://www.hemp.com), is also producing hemp-based products proven to increase the body’s overall health and performance. The company boasts HerbaGenix™ nutraceuticals (http://www.herbagenix.com); BasicHemp (http://www.basichemp.com), their hemp protein shakes brand; and, custom-branded MJ Lover for Him and MJ Lover for Her (http://www.mjlover.com) and Re-Load Hemp nutraceuticals (http://www.re-load.biz) which is derived from a blend of organic nutrients, herbs, and vitamins including hemp extract (0.00% THC) and AFA blue-green alga, Spirulina and Cordyceps and Rhodiola Rosea which are all known for their healthful effects.

Not only has the company been flooding the market with health products, its CEO, Bruce Perlowin is quite the philanthropist, according to inside sources. “Bruce Perlowin is an interesting character. Very philanthropic. His journey reminds me of the ‘Catch Me If You Can’ movie,” says David Tobias, President of Hemp, Inc. (OTC: HEMP).

Perlowin donates to Dr. Patch Adams’ of Gesundheit! Institute who is building a 50 million dollar, free children’s hospital in West Virginia. Other efforts Perlowin donates prolifically to include the Cash Hyde Foundation Fundraiser with Tommy Chong (http://www.CashHydeFoundation.com); The CanDo Kids Project (http://www.CanDoProject.com); C Bar J Horsehaven Rescue, in Dolan Springs, Arizona (http://www.cbarjrescue.wetpaint.com); Spread Peace USA – Feeding the Homeless (http://www.facebook.com/spreadpeaceusa); and, Keepers of the Wild, to build an 1,800 acre animal sanctuary on 4,000 acres in Dolan Springs, Arizona (http://www.KeepersOfTheWild.com).

ABOUT HEMP, INC.

HEMP, Inc. (OTC:HEMP) focuses on the vast market created by the quickly emerging, and growing, multibillion dollar industrial hemp industry. HEMP, Inc. is not involved in the cultivation or marketing of medical marijuana. It is the company’s belief that legalization of hemp in all 50 states and at the federal level will come to pass. With that in mind, the company is building infrastructure with the potential to gain substantial market share before and after industrial hemp prohibition ends. (Pending any federal licensing or other requirements, that may be enacted after hemp prohibition ends).

HEMP, INC.’s TRIPLE BOTTOM LINE

Hemp, Inc. (OTC: HEMP) seeks to benefit many constituencies, not exploit or endanger any group of them. Thus, the publicly-traded company believes in “upstreaming” of a portion of profit from the marketing of their finished hemp goods back to its originator, in which most cases will be the American farmer, cultivating natural, sustainable products. By Hemp, Inc. focusing on comprehensive investment results—that is, with respect to performance along the interrelated dimensions of planet, people and profits— our triple bottom line approach can be an important tool to support sustainability goals.

CEO of Hemp, Inc., Bruce Perlowin, is positioning the company as a leader in the industrial hemp industry, with a social and environmental mission at its core. In fact, he wanted to, consciously, found a business with non-financial goals that weren’t an after-thought, but were part of its DNA. For example, a percentage of proceeds of the hemp.com products are donated to PatchAdams; Kin’s Domain (http://www.kinsdomain.us) which uses natural, organic, sustainably harvested, renewable, pure raw materials; and, an overall use of renewable energy sources.

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) November 29, 2012

Bruce Perlowin, CEO of Hemp, Inc. (OTC: HEMP) and industrial hemp veteran, whose company led the industry’s 4th quarter growth curve last, gave insight on how the last quarter in 2012 will end.

According to Bruce Perlowin, “So far, the last quarter for the Fabulous Four hemp and marijuana stocks are showing a strong growth curve as the end of the last quarter nears, as they did last year. Massive media campaigning makes people outside our industry aware of this huge industry that’s growing phenomenally. “

With marijuana legalized now, how will it benefit the American people and the economy? Industry analysts are optimistic and foresee a creation of a new and highly profitable agricultural industry, increased trade opportunities, an increase in the gross national product (GNP), improved environmental conditions, new tax resources, and reduced costs with respect to enforcement of current laws. According to http://www.govtrac.us, The Industrial Hemp Farming Act of 2012, alone, amends “the Controlled Substances Act to exclude industrial hemp from the definition of marihuana, and for other purposes.” With all eyes on the industrial hemp and medical marijuana industry, coupled with the benefits of legalization, savvy investors are beginning to invest heavily.

Hemp, Inc.’s (OTC: HEMP) CEO, Bruce Perlowin, has accumulated over 500,000 shares in GreenGro Technologies, Inc.; over 5 million in Grow Life, Inc.; and, twenty-one million shares in Medical Marijuana, Inc. Even though his favorite is his own (Hemp, Inc. (OTC: HEMP)) he has started strategically investing in other marijuana industry stocks. “I know these stocks are going to go through the roof this last quarter just as they did last year,” says Perlowin.

While the average non-investor may not have a clue, market awareness surrounding the industrial hemp and medical marijuana industries is informative and can be very persuasive. With Massachusetts legalizing medical marijuana, more people are thinking about opening dispensaries, growing medical marijuana, or getting paid better wages as trimmers. During Prop 19, the stock skyrocketed and then fell. However, this past election, the steadiness of the marijuana stocks signal the industry is here to stay.

Forging a path in the industrial hemp industry, while educating consumers on the many uses of industrial hemp, Hemp, Inc. (OTC: HEMP) (http://www.hemp.com), is also producing hemp-based products proven to increase the body’s overall health and performance. ABOUT HEMP, INC.

Hemp, Inc. (OTC: HEMP) focuses on the vast market created by the quickly emerging, and growing, multibillion dollar industrial hemp industry. Hemp, Inc. (OTC: HEMP) is not involved in the cultivation or marketing of medical marijuana.

Thus, the publicly-traded company believes in “upstreaming” of a portion of profit from the marketing of their finished hemp goods back to its originator, in which most cases will one day be the American farmer, cultivating natural, sustainable products. By Hemp, Inc. (OTC: HEMP) focusing on comprehensive investment results—that is, with respect to performance along the interrelated dimensions of people, planet, and profits— our triple bottom line approach can be an important tool to support sustainability goals.

CEO of Hemp, Inc. (OTC: HEMP), Bruce Perlowin, is positioning the company as a leader in the industrial hemp industry, with a social and environmental mission at its core. In fact, he wanted to, consciously, found a business with non-financial goals that weren’t an after-thought, but are part of its DNA.

Industrial Hemp Legalized in Colorado – EnviroTextiles, Glenwood Springs, CO

posted in: Hemp Legislation 0

Glenwood Springs, Colorado (PRWEB) November 14, 2012

Colorado Amendment 64 passed, allowing for the cultivation of industrial hemp. Most of the current buzz about the amendment is about legalizing marijuana for recreational purposes in the state. What has not made the national headlines is that Amendment 64 also included legalizing industrial hemp.

Some key excerpts from Amendment 64 concerning hemp:

    In the interest of enacting rational policies for the treatment of all variations of the cannabis plant, the people of Colorado further find and declare that industrial hemp should be regulated separately from strains of cannabis with higher Delta-9 Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) concentrations.
    “Industrial Hemp” means the plant of the genus cannabis and any part of such plant, whether growing or not, with a Delta-9 Tetrahydrocannabinol concentration that does not exceed three-tenths percent on a dry weight basis.
    “Marijuana” or “Marihuana” does not include Industrial Hemp, nor does it include fiber produced from the stalks, oil, or cake made from the seeds of the plant, sterilized seed of the plant which is capable of germination, or the weight of any other ingredient combined with marijuana to prepare topical or oral administrations, food, drink, or other product.
    No later than July 1, 2014, the general assembly shall enact legislation governing the cultivation, processing and sale of Industrial Hemp.

Hemp is truly a wonder plant. There are over 25,000 confirmed uses for industrial hemp that include clothing, paper, plastic alternatives, building materials, and much more. Most products made from plastic, wood, or cotton can be made with hemp.

What does this mean for Colorado farmers? For starters, hemp requires very little water and no pesticides and herbicides. With drought conditions in the state, hemp is the most viable cash crop to plant under these conditions. In addition to ease of growing, one acre of hemp can provide the same amount of fiber as four acres of cotton. While hemp cultivation has been outlawed in the US, manufacturers of hemp products in the US have been thriving in recent years. Given the difficulty of importing raw hemp for manufacturing, our farmers already have immediate demand for their new crops in existing and expanding domestic markets. Simply put, farming industrial hemp will provide the US with manufacturing jobs, expand green initiatives, and provide our struggling agriculture industry with a cash crop that can be grown across the country.

EnviroTextiles is a pioneer in the Industrial Hemp industry, having overseen hemp cultivation and textile manufacturing in Romania, China, South Korea, Hungary, and Poland over the past 22 years. Conveniently located in Colorado, EnviroTextiles is poised to take full advantage of the ability to grow industrial hemp and is currently completing a vertical operation to produce hemp products in Colorado.
