Because commercial hemp is a cannabis plant it is illegal to grow in the
US, but it
doesn’t require pesticides or defoliants to harvest, the defoliants they
use on cotton
before harvest will take the paint off of your car, and this is what we are
putting on
our farm land. So the government by limiting what the farmer can grow i.e.
cotton
is contributing to environmental damage by the over use of agricultural
chemicals.

If the Hearst corporation bought the rights to the machine that takes the
fiber off hemp stalks in the green state in 1930 then the patents have run
out and anyone with a copy of the plans for the machine can build and sell
them. Someone should publish a copy of the plans and post on the internet.

I really wish more people would watch this – I love hemp fiber clothes, I
use hemp protein powders in my smoothies, and the shelled hemp seeds are so
nutty and delicious! Such a sustainable and useful crop.
