Power concedes nothing without a demand.  It never did and never will.   Frederick Douglas

We are a network of collectives, growers, patients, activists, attorney's, entrepreneurs, and other informed individuals who have decided it is time to ball up and take a stance.

Do you know of a law abiding collective that has been raided, disbanded, and had everything confiscated?

Sadly most of us do.  Most patients feel helpless and scared when this happens.  But you are not alone.  Being part of the Cannabis Union means you are part of a coalition that will prevent fellow union members from illegal harassment and arrest.
This disregard for a collective's rights will only continue until specific standards are put in place and the Cannabis industry's economic and legal interests are represented and protected.

Our Objectives:

  • Ensure the Cannabis Industry remains with the people as our nation moves towards legalization. .
  • Create and promote Industry Standards and safe efficient connection between dispensary collectives and grower collectives.
  • Create solidarity to ensure we are all connected and our voice is heard.
  • Provide members with resources and assistance to operate in  "clear and unambiguous compliance with existing state laws…."
  • Provide legal aid and help prevent law enforcement encounters

Standards

1.  Be Educated
This is number one since the implementation of standards in your operations are only as good as your knowledge base.  Ignorance is not a defense in court.  This mean you must be acutely aware of all local and state laws and understand how they apply to your specific situation.  We help CU members navigate through the changing political and legal environment.  Knowledge is Power.

2.  Be Legal
Once you are fully aware of the proper way to establish your operation, it is crucial that all local and state guidelines are followed precisely.  Most "Gray" areas can be avoided and reduce your exposure to law enforcement encounters.  Many pioneers have sacrificed tirelessly to achieve the legal status in various states, and the emergence of a legal industry.  Those who will transition into the fully legal industry – are those who are informed and prudent.  The CU will help guide you and steer you away from pitfalls.

3.  Be Safe
Growing facilities, small collectives, and large dispensaries all have the duty to take precautions to keep the Cannabis Community safe.  This means grow rooms built and operated with workers and neighbors safety in mind.  Construction of facilities must be to local code enforcement standards as well.  Our reputation and continued existence depends on us.

4.  Be Clean
The use of toxic pesticides and chemicals are prohibited.  All waste products must be stored and disposed of properly.  The standard for clean and safe Cannabis medicine is being developed daily by several model Collectives throughout the country.  We can aid you in being up to date and on the right track as Cannabis medicines move into the main stream.

5.  Be Legitimate
Compensation to collective members must be similar to market salaries.  All cash must be reported and taxed per state law.   Do not behave in any way that may allow law enforcement to paint you as a drug dealer.  Cannabis Union Dispensary and Distribution networks will keep you safe and efficient.
Criminal affiliations, illegal drugs, large amounts of cash and fire arms are the worst combinations.  All CU members must be very cautious and aware of these dangers to oneself and the Cannabis Community as a whole.   If your operation is up to Union standards, you need not protect yourself and property with a gun.  Insurance is now available through the CU's negotiated discount rates.  An alarm that alerts the local police is the best option.   If you are operating legitimately – you need not fear turning to the local authorities for protection.

6.  Be Ready
Understand what may happen if you are visited by local law enforcement.  Know what to say and do and what not to say or do.   See HANDBOOK for further information. So long as you are operating by CU standards you need not fear the law.

7. Use Common Sense
Always consider yourself and ambassador for the Cannabis Community.  Use common sense in developing your personal and business relationships.  As a member of the Cannabis Union you are making a vow to protect your fellow members through professional and informed conduct and activities that are always aimed at at protecting and promoting the industry we have all worked so hard to create.

MARIJUANA

Marijuana replaced the scientific name Cannabis in the last century.  This was done mainly to invoke racist feelings towards the growing Mexican immigrant population in the Southwest.  The rest of the country quickly got on board with the anti immigrant sentiment and the word "Marijuana" has been demonized for over 70 years now..

The war against Cannabis medicine and discrimination against patients and proponents – is akin to the obstacles encountered on the road to winning Civil Rights.

The treatment of Cannabis cultivators and medicinal users will not improve until we demand change.
Please be part of the change by breaking through the propaganda and discovering the facts.  The truth about Cannabis and it's many wonders will astound you.  The evidence is overwhelming and undeniable.
