Founder of Marijuana Investment Group Interviewed by Ganjapreneur

posted in: Hemp 0

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) December 31, 2014

As public support for the legalization of marijuana has grown, so has the speculation that the cannabis industry could be poised for a major boom if the US federal government changes its policy toward the drug. Like any other emerging market, the cannabis industry has piqued the interest of many venture capital and investment firms around the globe. Recently, Ganjapreneur, a website dedicated to the growing industry, published an interview with Douglas Leighton, founding partner of Dutchess Capital, an investment group which has recently focused its investments on cannabis start-ups.

In the interview, Leighton discusses how Dutchess Capital came to view the cannabis industry as an opportunity and what led to their eventual decision to invest in several start-ups. “It took us about 10 months of due diligence before we were comfortable to make the first investment,” he states. “We joined ArcView, the angel network for the cannabis industry, in the summer of 2013 and met Isaac Dietrich of MassRoots and subsequently made the first investment.” MassRoots is a popular, pseudo-anonymous social network for cannabis users. Leighton elaborates, “They are largest social networking site for the cannabis community and have grown over 2,000% year over year. They are anonymously collecting a tremendous amount of data from their user base such as a user’s strain preference, time of day they consume, consumption method among other key data collection points. They will be able to monetize this data via sponsored posts of either localized merchants and/or national brands.”

Leighton also discusses his predictions for the future of the industry as more and more states begin to legalize cannabis. “The largest market will be pharmaceutical marijuana. This will be a genetically modified version of what is used today for medicinal purposes. The power of this plant is not fully understood; once big pharma understands it, they will get involved.”

Beyond a thriving medical market, Leighton believes that every niche associated with cannabis or hemp will likely see major growth over the next several years. However, this doesn’t mean that every business will prove to be successful. Leighton explains, “investing in this industry is like playing chess without being able to see the board. Eventually ignorance will abate, the banking issue will be fixed and the drug will be rescheduled.”

The full interview can be found on Ganjapreneur’s website, or via their Android app which was launched on the Google Play market earlier this year. Ganjapreneur has announced that their app will also be available in the Apple App Store in the near future. The site launched over the summer, and has since published a large volume of business-related articles and interviews pertaining to cannabis.

Marijuana School Comes to San Diego

posted in: Hemp 0

(PRWEB) January 03, 2015

On January 11th in California the Cannabis Career Institute will be teaching a marijuana business class. The seminar will take place in San Diego at the Hampton Inn in San Diego. Classes run all day from 9-7 with access to other classes nationwide. The end of prohibition is near entrepreneurs aren’t wasting any time.

CCI aims to focus their lessons on the business side of the cannabis industry as it becomes more and more defined. The institute provides education in the political history of the plant, current laws and regulations in each state and endless business strategies. CEO Robert Calkin has had over 25 years of experience in the industry and has talked to CBS, The Examiner, and SF Weekly among others about the marijuana industry and how his school is creating the leaders of this new age end of prohibition. Being the first of its kind in America CCI strives to personalize the experience for each student by assisting in building a custom plan.

California has had legal medical marijuana longer than any other state in America. In 1996 voters legalized possession and cultivation of cannabis through Proposition 215. In 2004 the Medical Marijuana Program Act (MMA) was authorized by Legislature laying out a clearer system with more rules on how much medicine a patient may possess, how the herb may be grown and a voluntary identify verification process. Mostly recently cannabis concentrates were cleared for medical use under the Compassionate Care Act opening many more doors to the industry.

The Cannabis Career Institute was created in North Hollywood with facilitators who combined their years of experience in the industry to create the best possible educational program. Calkin has created many cannabis businesses including Green Dot Delivery and Cannajobs while also playing a huge had as an advocate in the American Hemp Council and multiple Smoke-In’s in Washington DC. Along with other experienced mentors, students will have access to any answers along their path to success.

CCI continues to expand working with other advocacy groups offering information at classes, conventions, and online. To enroll into the institute there’s a one time all access fee of $ 299 with classes year around nationally. The Miraculous Of Hemp Plantation

posted in: Hemp 0

Hemp and marijuana are often confused as one and the same plant. But this is not true. These two plants are different from one another. Of all the plants, hemp is one such plant that is economic and is seen as a separate plant by the US law. Growing this plant is easy and it does not require any lengthy processes. Hemp can be used to replace

There are many misconceptions about the hemp plant. Contrary to popular belief, hemp and marijuana are not the same plant. Hemp is non-narcotic and is seen as a separate plant in the United States law. Hemp is the most economically viable plant the United States could produce. There is a rich history accompanying hemp. It is very easy to grow and process. Hemp could theoretically replace most other textiles needed to create products including but not limited to: food, fabric, paper, construction materials, car materials, and fuel making it a plant to fit most needs in a cost effective manner.

Hemp Plant grows well in a large variety of climates and soil types as well as being drought resistant, making it an ideal crop in the dry western regions of the country. Hemp is naturally resistant to most pests, weeds, and diseases, thus eliminating the need for pesticides and herbicides. Hemp also covers the fields they are grown in with leaves which naturally improve the soil in a self-mulching ecosystem. This means that you can till the same fields continuously and never use up the soil’s nutrients. This would eliminate the need to circulate crop fields and ensure the continuing health of the soil while minimizing the space needed to grow. Hemp can also be harvested with equipment that is readily available so it would be a seamless switch from almost any other crop.

On the earth there are over 3 million edible plants, although no other plan source can compare to the nutrition value of hempseeds. Hemp oil has the highest amount of amino fatty acids in the plant kingdom. These essential oils are responsible for our immune system responses and they clear the arteries of cholesterol and plaque. A byproduct of pressing the oil from hempseed is a high quality protein seed cake. It can be sprouted or ground and baked into cakes, breads, and casseroles. Hemp seeds contain up to 24% protein. A handful of seeds will provide the minimum daily requirement of protein for adults. Hemp seed protein is one of the finest, and most complete vegetable proteins.

Plantation chanvremakes the strongest fabrics and can be made into a wide variety of fabrics including linen quality items. Un-dyed hemp fabric will not rot and will not fade in sunlight. Hemp is also unique in the way that it is anti-microbial, anti-mildew, naturally UV resistant, and readily takes on eco-safe plant-based dyes. Hemp also softens with each washing, without fiber degradation.

Hemp paper can be made from both the outer fibers of the hemp stalk as well as the inner core of the stalk and can become the finest quality paper. The long fibers in hemp allow its paper to be recycled 10 times whereas wood-based paper can only be recycled twice without losing integrity and requiring additional virgin fiber content. Because of hemp’s low lignin content, hemp can be pulped using far fewer chemicals than with wood. Its natural brightness can extinguish the need to use chlorine bleach, which means to extremely toxic dioxin being dumped into water sources. Hemp only needs the gentle chemistry of everyday hydrogen peroxide which naturally breaks down into oxygen gas and pure water.

Tom has found that facts about plantation chanvre which means hemp plantatation, which cana be very beneficial if it is used in a proper way.

Handmade Hemp Clothing

posted in: Hemp 2

Hemp clothing is a product made from weaving natural fibers obtained from the cannabis plant. Although many may know of the cannabis plant’s recreational uses, these plants were initially bred to yield long fibers.
Hemp is the longest, strongest, most durable natural fiber known to mankind and has been used for over 12,000 years. It was cultivated to provide industrial uses such as rope, paper, canvas, clothing, and other alternative textiles.

Originally, hemp is a coarse fiber and was deemed unsuitable for human wear. However, breeding methodologies were discovered to treat hemp fibers and produce a fiber that is much softer; an ideal material to use for weaving hemp. The end-product was then called handmade hemp clothing.

In the United States, hemp is the only crop that can be legally imported but not actually grown. Clothing made from industrial hemp is perfectly legal in the America.
The governing laws are confusing, but non-food and non-drug products made from this crop and sold in a reputable location is perfectly legal in this country. Handmade hemp clothing are comfortable to wear as the fibers keep the user cool.

They are also wrinkle-free which makes it a convenient staple in the wardrobe. Handmade hemp clothing are strong, durable, and absorbent. They are actually more preferred than cotton for garment that need to withstand hard wear. The fibers are known to last longer than cotton because compared to cotton, hemp textiles are stronger, more durable, consume only one third the amount of water, and growing hemp requires no crop chemicals.

It is highly resistant to mildew, rotting, very anti-microbial, and tests have shown that hemp material, with a close weave, repels U.V. Rays. Handmade hemp clothing is generally woven or knitted.
The personalized touch that the hand woven garments provide tend to add a certain exclusivity and value to the product. Designer Calvin Klein is known to have incorporated hemp materials to his fabrics and produce high-end fashion clothing to add to his latest collection.

Additional information is available about Hemp Clothes now.
