Visionary Seneca Entrepreneur Ross John Signs Joint Venture Agreement To Develop First Cannabis Industry On Sovereign Seneca Indian Land

posted in: Cannabis 0

Beverly Hills, CA (PRWEB) May 19, 2015

Visionary Seneca leader Ross John, Sr., announces today the formation of a joint venture agreement to research and develop complete and appropriate cannabis economic business models ideal for Native peoples and their territories. The joint venture is designed to use Native sovereign status as a unique development asset that can help streamline and nurture cannabis related projects and programs. “Sovereignty is an asset,” said Ross John Sr.

Longtime Seneca businessman and community leader Ross John is a Councillor for the Seneca Nation and is the former Chairman of the Seneca Economic Development Commission. John was appointed by past President Snyder and accepted by the Seneca Nation’s Council as the Commission’s first chairman. The Seneca Nation’s Economic Development Commission is seen by many as an important step in building a better economic relationship and building diversity.

“We want people to understand we’re Indian Country’s best chance for economic development,” John states. “Seneca sovereignty should be viewed as an asset for the entire region, and our job is to be out there and be active and available for a conversation with anybody and everybody on the topic of medical marijuana.”

It doesn’t end there. Also targeted are projects with ties to area universities and colleges and those with industry-specific backgrounds such as tourism, hospitality, medicine and technology. The focus will be on projects on sovereign lands in Salamanca, Buffalo and Niagara Falls.

“It’s about diversification. There’s a lot more to the Seneca Nation than casinos and cheap gas and cigarettes,” John said.

The commission’s roots go back to Seneca Nation past President Barry Snyder Sr., who said, “The Seneca Nation’s economy has grown significantly in the past several decades into a successful engine for regional economic growth.”

The focus of the joint venture is to use the Ross John’s private sector business experience and individual Seneca sovereign status to help evaluate and fast-track targeted business ventures in the cannabis space. All ventures will be vetted by the team including, Ross John, Lisa Sundberg and Cheryl Shuman. “We’re not your enemy,” Ross John said. “We’re here to be an asset. There’s nothing better than seeing Western New York benefit from our sovereign status.”

He said he could envision the joint venture using Native sovereign status to participate in the existing and emerging legal cannabis industry and help with medical tourism-based initiatives or developing companies to play off the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.

“We couldn’t have had this conversation a year ago,” John said. “With our on-going push to our assert sovereignty and the gains made in the shifts of federal policy, we can now exercise our sovereignty and lead Indian Country to create the ideal business models for cannabis economic development on our own lands. The Cole Memo issued by the Federal Government on December 11, 2014 provides guidelines for Indian Country to develop their own regulation business model. The direction points to a strategy employing the top cannabis policy experts lead by Lisa Sundberg and Cheryl Shuman to meet with both the U.S. District Attorney and Seneca leadership to implement best standards and practices from successful business models like Colorado’s Amendment 64. “With a coordinated and organized effort, we are 100% confident that we can develop a successful strategy for all Indian Nations for cannabis policy,” states Ross John.

Lisa Sundberg is Yurok and a member of the Cher-Ae Heights Indian Community of the Trinidad Rancheria, located in Humboldt County along the Pacific Ocean. She comes from a medicine family and is active in her local native ceremonies, is a visionary, entrepreneur and advocate in her community, and serves on the legislative committee for her tribe and advocates for economic development and self-sustaining communities.

Her company helps companies that want to do business with Native people in North American. Having served as a former appointee to the Secretary of Interior under the Hoopa-Yurok Settlement Act, mandated to study and investigate tribes across the country, and being the daughter of one of the longest seated female Indian leaders in the country, she has amassed a network spanning over 30 years in her field. She keeps her ear to the ground for new waves of opportunity that can benefit Indian Country.

Cheryl and Lisa have signed a letter of Intent with Ross John, an individual member of the Seneca Nation, whose goal is to lead the way for his people and the country and to provide products and services his surrounding communities are begging for.

“Working with Cheryl and Lisa is historic and exciting, “ said John. “We are taking the lead to make sure that the hurdles that must be crossed be done in the proper way, and bringing the top industry leaders to provide best practices, so we can help the people in our communities.”

Ross John, is from the Seneca Nation and he makes it very clear that his territory is surrounded by the state of New York and NOT “in” the state of New York. Ross is an elected official and founder of the Seneca Economic Development Commission. A visionary in his own nation, he is no “front man” to any project. He is an active business person leading the way in innovation technologies, energy, hydroponics, and green energy etc.

Ross believes Seneca’s have a unique status as a sovereign nation and pushes the state and federal governments to stop fighting them and get behind them. “People don’t have to look to foreign county to find a sovereign nation, we are a nation and a neighbor with many of the distinct regulatory and other advantages sought after in outsourcing to foreign countries. We want to provide a place where true testing and research can be provided without having to go to a foreign country to do it.” As with any other things Senecas do, they can get things done a lot easier as things don’t get boxed up with outside party politics or special interest groups. The cannabis industry can have the necessary research it truly needs to help people instead of the Federal Government wanting oversight without humanity.

Cheryl Shuman brings her 25 years skills of public relations, media, product branding, and business development to the budding organization. Shuman was recently featured on the cover of Adweek as Pot’s First Marketer, in Elle Magazine as The Most Powerful Women in the Pot Industry, named The Cannabis Queen of Beverly Hills by The New York Times Sunday Magazine as well as gracing The Cannabis Queen of Beverly Hills in The London Times Magazine.

Ross John said, “Cheryl has accomplished so much extraordinary progress in Cannabis reform, reaching millions of families through the utilization of mainstream media. Cheryl is leading the entire cannabis movement making history in the media as well as developing successful cannabis businesses.”

Shuman said, “Working with Ross John and Lisa Sundberg, I have always been inspired by their vision and dedication to Indian Country. It’s an honor to lead such a dynamic and ambitious organization, with such a clear and focused mission—improving the lives of the world’s most vulnerable, women and children. Our partnership creates a wonderful opportunity for Native Nations around the world to follow in the visionary footsteps of Pauline Sabin from the 1930’s who led a group of dedicated women to overturn alcohol prohibition. Today, we are making history working towards the end of cannabis prohibition.”

Cheryl Shuman states, “Women are the secret to creating the ideal business model for cannabis legalization. We are the family decision makers and influencers in society. After all, women buy 85% of all household and consumer products, according to Adweek. Now we can use that influence to change laws, save lives, families and introduce parents to new possible careers in the green rush. As an entrepreneur, it’s exciting to be on the ground floor of the cutting edge of making news and witnessing the convergence of Seneca and cannabis development.”

“The right leadership team is everything. Working with Lisa Sundberg and Ross John, it was evident immediately that it was a perfect fit in terms of values, integrity and personality. The leadership executed with Ross John, Lisa Sundberg and our team elevates Seneca leadership stature in the cannabis industry, adding prestige and thus creating a positive ‘halo’ around the organization. The value of our combined teamwork’s ability to provide global celebrity and media exposure for our organization are priceless,” said Cheryl Shuman.

The possibilities are limitless from Cannabis Friendly resorts, medical clinics, clinical trials as well as laboratories. The cannabis industry is estimated to generate over $ 32 Billion in revenue by 2020 making it more valuable than the NFL, according to the Washington Post and GreenWave Advisors Research (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2014/10/24/the-marijuana-industry-could-be-bigger-than-the-nfl-by-2020/) “We plan on making certain that Indian Country can benefit from these revenues and are fully committed to making it happen,” exclaims Cheryl Shuman. Stay tuned for further announcements, event schedule and media tour.

The Senate report is available at:

http://www.parl.gc.ca/illegal-drugs.asp

The Canadian Cannabis Coalition (CCC), a national umbrella organization for stakeholders in cannabis-related organizations, products and services, applauds the visionary recommendations of the Special Senate Committee on Illegal Drugs, especially in regards to the legalization of cannabis. The report is a major advancement toward a harm reduction-based cannabis policy, which acknowledges that the harms and benefits of cannabis can best be dealt within a legal,

regulated and controlled environment.

Through rigorous research and analysis of the many models of drug policy practiced around the world, the Senate Special Committee has

acknowledged the failure of cannabis prohibition, which serves only to advance black-market criminal interests, while criminalizing a large

proportion of the population (around 600,000 Canadians currently have criminal records for personal possession of cannabis) for behaviour

that is not inherently dangerous to the self, or to others.

The CCC has been a vocal critic of the new Marijuana Medical Access Program. As such, it was of particular interest that the Senate Special Committee had many of the same concerns that we had long expressed. The Senate found that “The MMAR are not providing a compassionate framework for access to marijuana for therapeutic purposes and are unduly restricting the availability of marijuana to patients who may receive health benefits from its use”.

The recommendations and findings that are of particular interest to some of our members are:

Measures should be taken to support and encourage the development of alternative practices, such as the establishment of compassion clubs

No attempt has been made in Health Canada’s current research plan to acknowledge the considerable expertise currently residing in the

compassion clubs

Health Canada should, at the earliest possible opportunity, undertake a clinical study in cooperation with Canadian compassion clubs

The qualities of the marijuana used in those studies must meet the standards of current practice in compassion clubs, not NIDA standards

Consider viewing marijuana as a natural health product, like other herbs and plants

People who smoke marijuana for therapeutic purposes prefer to have a choice as to methods of use

Additionally, Health Canada has recently announced the formation of the long overdue Medical Marijuana Advisory Committee. Although the CCC boasts some of the most experienced and knowledgeable medicinal cannabis users, researchers, suppliers and pioneers in Canada, we have been denied representation on the committee.

While we applaud the Senate’s report for its compassionate and rational recommendations, we would like to point out some areas that could be improved:

The report calls for a declaration of amnesty for any person convicted of possession of cannabis under current or past legislation.

The CCC further recommends that amnesty be extended to anyone convicted of nonviolent growing and distribution cannabis offenses

under current or past legislation.

The CCC is opposed to any form of forced treatment for cannabis users. Those who are arbitrarily deemed excessive users must not be

forced to undergo treatment by a Drug Treatment Court or any other agency.

While the Senate shows great concern for the health of the many Canadians who use cannabis, these concerns could be better addressed

with attention to the quality standards of the cannabis being produced. Higher potency cannabis will lead to smaller amounts being consumed, and organically grown cannabis tested for molds, mildews and fungus will result in a healthier product being consumed. Such standards will greatly reduce any health risks associated with

cannabis use and will put the onus on the producer rather that on the consumer.

When considering cannabis use and driving, we suggest that impairment is the only valid concern as opposed to the operation of a vehicle under the influence of this substance if one is not impaired. Thus testing should be for impairment, not for substance use.

The CCC welcomes the Senate’s recognition that the label of “drug abuse” is arbitary and incorrect. At the same time, we do have concerns that some other language of the report, such as arbitrarily defining “at-risk” and “excessive” use at over and under one gram of consumption per day respectively, is counter-productive. Many

Canadians, particularly, medicinial users, consume in excess of several grams of cannabis per day without any harm to themselves or

others.

The recommended National Advisor on Psychoactive Substances and Dependency might better be called the Advisor on Psychoactive

Substances, until there is a better understanding of dependency and the connotation is less pejorative. The recommended national fund for

research on psychoactive substances should also fund research on the beneficial effects of such substances on humans.

Finally, on the same day that the Senate released its Final Report – September 4, 2002 – the DEA raided the most respected medical cannabis dispensary in the United States, The Wo/men Alliance for Medical Marijuana (WAMM); literally grabbing medicine out of the hands of the

sickest, weakest, most vulnerable of its citizens. In Canada, the last month has seen both the Toronto Compassion Centre (1200 members) and

the Sunshine Coast Compassion Society (70 members) raided by police, resulting in closure of the clubs. This callous, indefensible police

response to the suffering of some of Canada’s sickest citizens must also end.

To avoid further accusations of callousness or negligence, the government must act to implement the recommendations of the Special Senate Committee on Illegal Drugs with the CCC’s additions, immediately.

For our part, we will continue to press the issue through the criminal and civil courts, the political process, education via print, web and

electronic publishing, and civil disobedience, until the situation is remedied.

Canada is a modern, educated, and compassionate country; it is time for our drug laws to reflect logic and common sense. It is time to end

the war on responsible Canadian cannabis users. It is time for a drug peace.

International Cannabis Lovers Holiday 420 Connects with Earth Day to Re-Tool the Medical Marijuana Landscape

posted in: Hemp Legislation 0

Oakland, CA (Vocus/PRWEB) April 17, 2011

The medicinal cannabis industry is undergoing an accelerated shift of perception at warp speed. With over 60,000 media articles published this year on the subject of ‘medical marijuana’ and ‘medical cannabis’ – the industry is experiencing unprecedented growth and interest. The 420 Holiday, Earth Day and the newly created Deep Green festival all give cause to reflect on the emerging medicinal cannabis and hemp industries that are sure to become a major factor in the upcoming 2012 elections. Deep Green celebrates how jobs, taxes, economics, health, the environment, ecology and medical cannabis are all inherently linked.

“The uses of medical cannabis are far more diverse than intoxication; and the medical cannabis community is composed of more than just party animals. Deep Green is a festival for the entire medical cannabis community to honor and celebrate the many ways medicinal cannabis enhances our wellness, spirituality, industry, and inspiration,” said Steve DeAngelo, ED Harborside Health Center.

DeAngelo, an ardent medicinal cannabis activist of 40 years and ED of the nation’s largest model dispensary Harborside Health Center in Oakland, California will be one of the featured speakers at Deep Green.

“The idea for Deep Green grew out of my concern for how the 420 Holiday has typically been portrayed with a parade of stereotypical stoner images, sensational six foot joints, clouds of smoke, and dreadlocked debauchery, and an unending focus on the most outrageous and alienating segments of the community,” said DeAngelo in a recent interview. “As a mature and responsible lover of medical cannabis, I envisioned a holistic celebration of the plant, highlighting the many real ways medical cannabis contributes to the health and wellness of individuals and community alike.”

This April 20th holiday is an opportunity to celebrate this extraordinary moment and rally to the cause. The 420 holiday was started in 1971 by a group in San Rafael, California that was looking for a way to enjoy the drug in a socially accepted way. Now it has come to be known as a time to connect, reflect and celebrate medical cannabis. This is a ritual that still holds a deep meaning to the medicinal cannabis culture. For those on the frontlines of medical cannabis – and in an effort to break widely perceived stigmas – it’s time to re-tool and reflect on some history making moments that have occurred in the industry in the last few years.

In October of 2009, the Attorney General Eric Holder states that the Justice Department will not prosecute and calls for review of marijuana cases on a case-by-case basis consistent with the state and local law enforcement authorities.

In November of 2009 The American Medical Association (AMA) issues a resolution that asks the Federal government to review the restrictions on medical marijuana in order to ease the way for more research.

In March of 2011 the first real market data of the medical cannabis industry’s economic power was released by See Change Media and the National Cannabis Industry Associations first lobbying day on Capitol Hill – citing domestic sales of medical marijuana to be 1.7 billion dollars.

As of 2011 there are 15 compassionate states and D.C. who have passed and are implementing their compassionate use legislation, with dozens of more states considering initiatives for their states future health and economies.

The time has come to celebrate the 420 Holiday responsibly by integrating holistic health, environment and the precepts of Earth Day into the conversation. It’s the dawning of a new age and the medical cannabis revolution is upon us.

The Deep Green festival is the first Earth Day celebration of medical cannabis, health and ecology will be held Saturday April 23rd at Craneway Pavilion in Richmond, California. The event will feature music, speakers, workshops and over 75 exhibits.

Details about Deep Green can be found at deepgreenfest.com. For more information on Harborside Health Center, please visit harborsidehealthcenter.com.

PuraMed BioScience Explores the Development of Hemp and THC-Free Cannabis Formulations to Expand Its Product Line

posted in: US Hemp Co 0

Schofield, WI (PRWEB) March 24, 2014

PuraMed BioScience®, Inc., (OTCBB:PMBS), a researcher, developer, and marketer of over-the-counter (OTC) medicinal and healthcare products, confirmed today that it is seriously exploring the development of cannabinoid and hemp-based formulations to expand its natural and homeopathic product line.

PuraMed BioScience initially intends to develop and manufacture hemp and THC-free formulations that create medicinal compounds that don’t produce the “high” associated with cannabis containing THC. Scientific research has shown that cannabinoids can be formulated to effectively treat conditions such as multiple sclerosis, Crohn’s disease, pain, neurodegenerative disorders, epilepsy, arthritis and combat the effects of cancer chemotherapy.

“Integrating cannabinoid-based medications into our product line makes sense with what we are already doing,” said Russell Mitchell, CEO of PuraMed BioScience. “Cannabis has been used medicinally for centuries. It has only been in the last 100 years that its schedule 1 drug status and the abuse of this product for non-medicinal purposes has detracted from its medicinal benefits. Medical journal publication sites list many medical articles that report cannabinoids provide a viable treatment to neurologic problems, inflammatory diseases, and pain.

“Due to recent changes in the legality and availability of cannabinoids, we believe the future looks extremely bright for the development of highly effective and safe treatments incorporating these hemp derived compounds,” said Mitchell.

Scientific evidence continues to grow as to the effectiveness and safety of certain cannabinoids used to treat a number of disease states. In his article, ‘I am doubling down’ on medical marijuana, published on CNN Health, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, practicing neurosurgeon and CNN Chief Medical Correspondent, confirms his previous article apologizing for dismissing the plant’s potential.

Dr. Gupta has seen first-hand the benefit of this substance in the lives of people as shown in his documentaries Weed and Weed2, which recently aired on CNN. During his documentaries, Dr. Gupta stated that, unlike some prescription pain relievers, no one has died from an overdose of cannabis.

Even the United States government holds patents on cannabis-based formulations.

PuraMed BioScience has been investigating this market for nearly two years and found that cannabinoids offer a structure and function that fits ideally with several of its existing technologies. “We have been following the studies that currently are being conducted in Israel,” said Mitchell.

The company has researched the potential efficacy of cannabinoid-based pain treatment for patients with rheumatoid arthritis and chronic back pain and found that there was evidence of a high probability of success. PuraMed believes that a combination of cannabinoids with other natural compounds can provide superior results while avoiding the often severe side effects of many of the prescription treatments.

“The results of our preliminary research combined with the fact that the US cannabis market is expected to grow to over $ 10 billion by 2018, are strong reasons to aggressively develop a cannabis and hemp-based product line,” said Mitchell. “Development of these products will continue our mission of providing safe, effective products that use natural ingredients.

“We are particularly interested in the development of a formulation that will help veterans who are suffering the effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD),” said Mitchell. “An effective PTSD formulation in addition to our LipiGesic® M migraine product would allow us to provide veterans with two effective medications to relieve these debilitating conditions.”

According to reports, on March 14, 2014, Suzanne Sisley, a lead researcher at the University of Arizona received approval from the Public Health Service, a branch of the US Department of Health & Human Services to research medical marijuana’s effectiveness in the treatment of PTSD. This was the second of three approvals necessary to conduct the research. The research has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and is awaiting approval from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

At this point in time, six states approve the use of medical cannabis for PTSD.

PuraMed BioScience intends to become a leader in the cannabinoid-based medicine market utilizing its proven ability to develop and produce highly effective plant based medicines. The company has historically used scientific and clinical studies to prove the efficacy and safety of its products. PMBS expects to lead the way in conducting the same level of validated science for any product that contains cannabinoids.

“We’ve produced a highly effective acute migraine medication using feverfew and ginger that has been clinically tested and found to provide efficacies that perform better than its prescription counterparts,” said Mitchell. “We have faced an uphill battle with the adoption of homeopathic drugs in the mainstream, but we see that changing as well.”

In the March 24, 2014 issue of Woman’s World, LipiGesic® M is featured in an article entitled, “No more migraine pain!” The combination of feverfew and ginger was a treatment for migraine was also mentioned in “Nature’s First Aid Kit” which appeared in the February 2014 issue of O The Oprah Magazine.

“Publication in these magazines proves that the public is beginning to embrace the idea of “natural and safe” medications made with homeopathic formulations,” said Mitchell. “As more of the public embraces natural medicinal products, we will continue to provide formulations that operate with the highest level of efficacy and safety, which will allow people to choose a natural alternative without compromising treatment outcomes.”

About LipiGesic M:

Results of a double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial for LipiGesic®M show LipiGesic M is a highly effective treatment for acute migraine. The study was published in the July 2011 issue of the top-tier medical journal, Headache: The Journal of Head and Face Pain. In addition to LipiGesic M, the Company also has plans to launch LipiGesic® H, tension headache remedy, as well as LipiGesic® PM, a remedy for insomnia and other sleep disorders.

IRS Threatens to Shut Down Medical Cannabis

posted in: Hemp Legislation 0

Oakland, CA (PRWEB) February 23, 2012

The IRS threatens to turn back the clock on medical cannabis. A national alliance of industry leaders, patients and elected officials are fighting back with a new project aimed at education and policy change. The 280E Reform effort plans to bring an end to the current IRS campaign to close medical cannabis dispensaries.

The IRS campaign of aggressive audits was launched approximately 2 years ago and uses section 280E of the IRS code to deny dispensaries the ability to deduct legitimate business expenses. Denied expenses include items such as rent, payroll, and all other necessary business expenses.

These denials result in astronomical back tax bills for the affected dispensaries that, if not changed, threaten to destroy the financial viability of every medical cannabis dispensary in the country—thereby ending safe and affordable access to cannabis for legally qualified patients.

Section 280E was passed by Congress in 1982, long before the passage of medical cannabis laws and was intended to apply to traffickers of dangerous drugs. Last year, Congressman Pete Stark (D-CA) introduced the Small Business Tax Equity Act (H.R. 1985), which would create an exception to 280E for legal medical marijuana businesses, allowing them to take the full range of business expense deductions on their federal tax returns.

With fear looming that these audits will eventually shut down all legally operating medical cannabis businesses that have been operating according to their state laws—and some paying taxes for years—time is of the essence.

Campaign spokesperson Steve DeAngelo outlined the consequences: “Should the IRS campaign be successful, it will throw millions of patients back in to the hands of street dealers, eliminate tens of thousands of well-paying jobs, destroy hundreds of millions of dollars of tax revenue, enrich the criminal underground, and endanger the safety of communities in the 17 medical cannabis states.”

In response to these dangers, the 280E Reform project is announcing a nationwide campaign to bring awareness to legislators, provide legal and tax counsel for threatened organizations and prepare a grassroots educational effort to enlighten the public on the need to reform 280E.

“We are going to challenge this tax code to make sure that patients all over America have the ability to safely fill their health care needs with safe access from medical cannabis providers who are operating clearly with state laws,” said lead tax attorney Henry Wykowski. “This is a public safety issue and a healthcare right.”

An impressive team has been assembled to lead this effort, including Don Duncan, co-founder of American for Safe Access (ASA) and medical cannabis supporter who has been featured on 60 minutes, Dan Rather Reports and the LA Times; Henry Wykowski, legal tax counsel who successfully defended CHAMP in a similar IRS audit; Troy Dayton, co-founder of Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP), former Senior Development Officer of the Marijuana Policy Project (MPP) and current CEO of ArcView Group; Amir Daliri, entrepreneur and co-founder of California Cannabis Association and President of CannLobby, LLC, a medical cannabis focused political consultancy; and Steve DeAngelo, Executive Director of Harborside Health Center and activist, whose accomplishments include the passage of Proposition 59, the Washington D.C. medical cannabis initiative.

A graduate of the University of Maryland (summa cum laude), DeAngelo is a charter member of Americans for Safe Access and co-creator of Hemp Tour and Ecolution Inc., which produced hemp garments and accessories. He is the star of the new Discovery Channel series “Weed Wars.”

Workshops announced: The IRS is Coming! Are you Ready? IRS Tax Audit Seminars to aid medical cannabis businesses ‘How to Get Ready?’ will take place on February 25th from 1 to 6 pm at the Main Ballroom of Just Dance, which is located at 2500 Embarcadero in Oakland.

The same workshop will also be held on March 10th from 1 to 6 pm at the Courtyard Marriott, located at 925 Westlake Ave. N in Seattle. Enroll online: http://www.280Ereform.org or (206) 466-1766.

Cannabis is an industry that shows robust promise in the current job market.  It is estimated that job openings in the cannabis industry have grown over 3,000 percent since 2005. Cannabis-related business ownership has also shown massive growth over the last few years.

Eighteen states plus Washington D.C. have medical cannabis laws and two states have legalized the recreational use of cannabis.  Eight additional states have medical laws pending.  During a conference call with state governors on August 29th, Attorney General Eric Holder announced that the US Department of Justice would allow the marijuana legalization laws in Colorado and Washington to go into effect.    This has launched a nationwide conversation about dismantling cannabis prohibition as many marijuana-friendly municipalities, counties and states are now generating enormous amounts of revenue from taxes and business licensing fees.

Since 2009 CCI has specialized in the business of cannabis, teaching would-be entrepreneurs how to navigate the often-murky waters of starting up a cannabis business.   CCI presents students with an objective expanse of options with step-by-step instruction on the process of starting a business.  Delivery, Dispensary Management, Law, Compliance, Marketing and Advertising, Cultivation, Extracts and Cooking are all discussed in detail, providing students with many choices to fit their career goals and lifestyle.

“There is no other industry on the planet right now that is growing as rapidly as the cannabis business,” said Gary Lane, CCI’s Sales and Marketing Director. “If someone is looking for a career in marijuana or wants to learn how the industry works, the one day CCI workshop is an excellent primer. Not only does one receive valuable instruction and information but what also usually happens is a “class-bonding” dynamic. More often than not, students of each of the classes form their networking and support group that turns into a valuable and life-long resource.”
