The Greenhouse Company, Amsterdam is well known for its selection of high quality cannabis seeds. These top of the line seeds are characterized by genetic excellence and reliability. Heres a look at some of the most popular Greenhouse seeds available today.

The seeds on offer from this company have immense medicinal as well as recreational value. It is also associated with Dutch coffee shops in the Netherlands, making them the perfect breeders for the Dutch marijuana market.

Arjans Strawberry Haze is one of the most popular offerings of Greenhouse. Named after the company founder, this seed produces plants that can induce a strong cerebral high with a mild bodily effect. If youre growing the seed indoors, allow it to mature for ten weeks before harvesting. Leaving it a week longer will increase the flavor substantially.

The Greenhouse Big Bang is an exceptional seed that yields plants which may be used by growers for medicinal purposes or simply to have fun. This particular product is also sold at most Dutch pharmacies as a prescription drug. It has a relaxing and soothing effect on the mind and the body.

The Church is also another popular offering from Greenhouse and guarantees as much peace of mind as the house of worship its named after. It provides smokers with a long lasting cerebral high and is easily distinguishable by its unique taste. Plants from this seed also offer a high yield and are very mold resistant. The best months to grow it in is October in the northern hemisphere and May in the Southern Hemisphere.

The feminised lemon skunk is also a Greenhouse bestseller and is a tall plant with a good yield. The buds are easily discernable by their strong and unique fragrance and the leaves are usually light green, covered with thick orange hairs. The plant has a smooth citrus flavor thats complex, yet well balanced and long lasting.

The Greenhouse Green Thai has been a part of the companys inventory for a long time now. However, it made its debut as recently as earlier this year. This tall plant, also takes a longer time to flower- about 14 weeks. The genetics of this particular seed is impeccable and it is one of the original Thais that do not produce any hermaphrodites. The high you get from the hash of this plant is mild but trippy and long lasting.

The Thai is also a particular favorite of sativa strain enthusiasts. This landrace can be smoked throughout the day without any risk of decreased productivity or alertness at work or play. If you are growing it indoors, allow it to reach its full size before harvesting. If youre growing it outdoors, make sure the temperature is equatorial, mild Mediterranean or tropical for best results.

The Greenhouse El Nino is also a much in demand selection of seeds. True to its name, this stormy plant has a pronounced Brazilian pedigree as well as other strains and creates quite a gale for the senses.

Other Greenhouse seeds that you should definitely smoke up include Train Wreck, Green-o-matic, and Hawaiian Snow amongst others.

Art Meets Nature – Opening of The Riverside Gallery and Natural Clothing Co. store in Snohomish, WA

posted in: Hemp Farming 0

Snohomish, WA (PRWEB) September 29, 2011

What do a first generation American and a Polish immigrant have in common? Spending their early years in Chicago is a one thread but more important is a belief in the American Dream. “If anywhere there is still a place that small people can build successful companies, its here, [in America],” says Alina, owner of Natural Clothing Co. “These might be the hardest times in the last 30 years I’ve lived in U.S. but if anybody can make things go right, it is right here.”

And there’s no more beautiful place in America than here in Washington State, especially in Snohomish, with its snow capped mountains, rivers and farms. “We believe we found the most beautiful spot in the state, right on the Snohomish River. It’s so appropriate, that we opened our store here. An art gallery and natural clothing display – art meets nature”, says Elaine, an owner of The Riverside Gallery.

Alina and Elaine met at the class on raising chickens that Elaine was teaching through Sky Valley Education extension in Monroe. Soon they found they had more in common than the joy of chickens. For Alina, an architect by trade and Elaine, a former CPA and teacher, a concern about the environment and the well being of the future generations is a passion. They began collaborating together on several projects, art shows and online. When the opportunity presented itself to create a beautiful showplace which allows promotion of art and raising awareness of dangers of the conventional textile industry, the two motivated women took it.

Alina, bursting with energy when preparing her displays speaks of her beginnings in the business. She started Natural Clothing Company after learning that the conventional cotton crop is one of the biggest consumers of cancer producing insecticides and pesticides, polluting soil, waters, and damaging cotton workers’ health. Today, many people with sensitive skin purchase from the Natural Clothing Co.’s online store, seeking those soft bamboo and cotton fabric. The majority though are the people who want fewer chemicals to be used in our lives – the planting fields and their skin safe, as well as they want to look beautiful.

“We carry hemp, certified organic cotton, linen and bamboo. The fibers are made from plants grown organically without use of pesticides. The Natural Clothing Co.’s fabrics are plant, not oil derived resources, such as polyesters and nylons, so you can compost them once worn out” Alina, an avid gardener, says with a smile. “People don’t need tons of new clothing. But if you do buy something, buy quality; invest in timeless beauty and safety of natural fibers and help the planet. Our organic clothing is Nature approved!”

Alina’s counterpart, Elaine, the owner of The Riverside Gallery, is comfortably friendly as she walks people around the gallery at preview explaining the pieces on exhibit. “We have our current art on display and more coming in for exhibits. The works are by local and national artists. Our art is accomplished by old fashion methods without the use of projectors, Photoshop and other technological advances, except for the limited edition prints. There is a place for those tools in the art world but our goal is to promote art created with the feel of the old masters. Maybe with a nouveau twist. That’s how we envision our gallery.”

Elaine has been a professional artist earning money in the field at age 15. She won ribbons and awards by 18 taking her out of the amateur status at an early age. She worked for an advertising paper in Chicago, has been published in Melbourne, Fl, and is on permanent exhibit in public and private collections throughout the country.

The Riverside Gallery is a place for many visitors with lively activities. There is a gift shop in a making for those searching for a more unusual gift. There are also classes offered as well from degreed instructors with over 10 years experience in teaching. “Art exercises our minds in observation, science, geography and culture. Anyone can benefit from a session of classes.” For a little fun and mild exercise after a good meal, The Riverside Gallery will have weekend Ghost Tours on Foot that will feature the history of this quaint antique logging town intertwined with artfully done ghost stories.

How do they feel about sharing this space? “Wonderful,” says Elaine. “I love the fashion right next door, especially the relaxing beauty of natural clothing. I own quite a few pieces in my wardrobe. And it just fits with the space. Look out the window and you see the river with the fish jumping and the Natural Clothing Co. and The Riverside art gallery, it’s just a good fit… like a natural glove.”

“Walking through the gallery to get to my organic clothing store is uplifting” is Alina’s reply. “The art is different, some colorful, some poignant. It’s not the cookie cutter art we see so often now. It gets the creative energy flowing. So it sets my mood for the day and that’s good for me and my customers.”

The Riverside Gallery and Natural Clothing Co. are right below Todo Mexico, a beautiful restaurant with a genuine feel of old Mexico. With a deck outside and picture windows inside overlooking the Snohomish River, it is a relaxing spot for lunch or dinner. You can also grab a cappuccino at Java Inn at the front of the building to bring with you for your viewing of the gallery at the lower level.

There is no doubt that one can enjoy their time in this building alone. It’s a great place to bring your out-of-town guests, spend a day with friends or just passing your afternoon enjoyably in Snohomish.

The Riverside Gallery and Natural Clothing Company are located at 1101 First St in Snohomish, WA 98290. A Grand Opening is scheduled for Oct 1st and 2nd (Sat and Sun) from 11am till 8pm. After that store hours are 12 pm till 7 pm Thursday till Sun or by appointment.

Elmspring and Zillow Group to Host West Coast Demo Day

posted in: Cannabis 0

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) May 26, 2015

The elmspring accelerator, a seed-stage accelerator for real estate tech startups, will hold the first in a series of demo events for investors outside of its headquarters in Chicago on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 in San Francisco.

Sponsored by Zillow Group, the demo event will offer participants in the accelerator, founded by real estate entrepreneurs Thomas Bretz and Adam Freeman, the opportunity to connect with accredited investors on the West Coast. With a keynote speech by Jeff McConathy, VP of Engineering and an early employee at Trulia, the event will underscore the excitement of emerging ideas in real estate technology, a field in which elmspring and the Midwest in general are playing a leading role nationally.

“In real estate, we tend to think locally,” says elmspring Co-Founder Thomas Bretz, “but real estate technology has nationwide and even global impact. With many top startups coming through Chicago, we have a need to build bridges to other knowledge centers. Connecting entrepreneurs and investors from across the country will help enrich the ideas in this space, and broaden the opportunities and connections the Midwest needs to grow in these areas.”

Companies launched in the elmspring accelerator have ranged from HerbFront, a predictive mapping and zoning research portal for the growing legal cannabis industry, to ReaLync, a live video streaming platform for open houses and virtual tours of spaces. At the conclusion of each session, participants demonstrate their products to an audience of investors at Chicago’s 1871, a burgeoning hub for the tech and startup community, and, going forward, in other cities.

“There has been a massive amount of innovation in the real estate industry over the last 10 years, as real estate has become a software-powered experience for consumers and professionals,” said Jeff McConathy. “As we enter the next phase of innovation, it’s great to see elmspring working with these startups and helping them access the talent and resources they need to make an impact on the industry. We’re happy to be a part of bringing these ideas to the West Coast and helping a cross-pollination of ideas that will be of benefit to all.”

Following McConathy’s keynote, the June 9th demo will feature presentations by past graduates of the elmspring accelerator, who will demonstrate their products and business cases. The event is open to all accredited investors.

November/December Issue of Eucalyptus Magazine Now Available

posted in: Hemp Farming 0

Los Gatos, CA (PRWEB) October 28, 2011

Eucalyptus magazine, the only lifestyle magazine that focuses exclusively on health, wellness and green living in the San Francisco Bay Area, has just released its November/December 2011 issue. Feature stories include pieces on eco-apparel, eco-cleaning for the holidays, and the annual Eucalyptus Gift Guide. The Grown Local department profiles the Straus Family Creamery. The Green Tips section gives suggestions on going green for the holidays. The new issue of Eucalyptus is now online at http://www.eucalyptusmagazine.com/NovDec11 and available from over 350 Bay Area merchants.

“From all of us at Eucalyptus magazine, we wish you a happy and healthy holiday season,” said Michaela Marek, publisher and founder of Eucalyptus.

Clothing is a popular holiday gift, but the manufacturing process can have significant social and environmental costs. For people looking to support responsibly made eco-apparel, the issue features an article on businesses devoted combining style with sustainability. Amour Vert makes garments from “peace silk,” which, unlike traditional silk manufacturing, does not kill silkworms. Athletes will want to check out Greenlight Apparel, which makes fair-trade-certified athletic clothes from recycled polyester and organic cotton, and Good Gear, which uses renewable, chemical-free bamboo to make its running shorts and tees. Other featured eco chic companies use beneficial fibers like hemp and organic cotton, and even create new garments out of Goodwill finds.

People expecting company for the holidays will want to make sure their homes are spic and span. But on top of all the other stress and headaches of the season, who has time to do a deep clean? Eucalyptus offers a handy guide to Bay Area eco-cleaning companies that can clean up a house without dirtying the environment. While traditional carpet cleaning involves heavy chemicals and a lot of water, several local companies offer greener alternatives, such as natural enzymes, lower amounts of water, or hypoallergenic cleansers with no VOCs. Featured house cleaning companies are responding to consumers’ concerns about safety and environmental issues by using nothing but nontoxic, green-certified cleaning products; mapping out cleaning routes to minimize driving; and using carbon offsets for miles driven.

The holiday issue wouldn’t be complete without the Eucalyptus Gift Guide, a collection of gifts everyone can feel good about giving. Kids will love a huggable plush sea otter holding a sea star, and the proceeds benefit the Monterey Bay Aquarium. For stunning and unique jewelry gifts, Third Eye Pinecones creates pendants from cross-sections of conifer pinecones, inlaid with gems, crystals, shells, and fossils. Smartphone cases by Pong Research not only protect phones when they’re dropped, they also redirect cell phone radiation away from the head without interfering with signal levels.

“I love the annual gift guide; last year I took the recommendations and purchased several gifts for my friends. I am looking forward to it again,” said reader Monika Cervena.

Elsewhere in the new issue, a profile of the Strauss Family Creamery in coastal Marin County, the first certified organic dairy in western US, proves that California does have some happy cows. These bovines are fed grass or organic vegetarian feed and raised without hormones or antibiotics. Some of their waste funneled into a methane digester that powers the farm, some is composted. The milk and cream is all organic and non-GMO certified.

The issue also offers Green Tips on the holiday season, including giving time instead of presents, wrapping gifts with materials already found in the house, and using seasonal spices and oils to scent the house. Green Tips also air on two radio stations: MIX 106.5 and 94.5 KBAY.

In honor of the November/December 2011 issue, Eucalyptus is offering a subscription sale: 50% off a one-year subscription. Subscribers can get 6 issues for only $ 12. More info at http://www.eucalyptusmagazine.com/subscribe.

Industrial Computers

posted in: Industrial Hemp 0

In this day and age you can’t afford to run an industry efficiently without a computer as it plays a vital part in most manufacturing facilities. You must decide on a computer that is designed and built for 24/7 (non-stop; 24 hours a day, 7 days a week) and that can cope with the harsh industrial environment. There are many common hazardous elements in the industries such as dust, liquids, high temperature and so on that computers struggle to deal with. Dust often contains metals or other conductive materials that can accumulate in computer’s electrical system and cause short circuits. Dust can accumulate on the heat sink to prevent heat transfer rate, dust can block tiny ventilators to disrupt airflow and make the system overheating. Overheating is one of the common causes that shorten the lifespan of the CPU. Water can have more damaging effect if it penetrates the computer’s electrical system; an immediate short circuit can make the computer in-operable and force you to invest some more fortune.

Industrial computers are designed and built to withstand these harsh conditions. They are more robust and solid to resist severe consequences; they can operate in ambient temperature as high as 45°C (115°F) and provided with additional cooling system. They are housed in an enclosure to make them free from reaching any dust particles, liquids or any other hazardous materials. Due to the fact that they serve varied purposes and are more functions than computers used for home and simple offices, they are designed for 24/7 use.  They come with higher grade power supply and in some cases an additional PSU is required.

The common microprocessors used in industrial computers are x86-compatible CPUs. Software can be custom written for a particular application or an off-the-shelf package for specific uses.

Industrial computers come with various form factors such as standard 19-inch rack-mounted, panel-mounted, wall mounted, floor-post mounted, yoke mounted and so on. All form factors are designed to provide superior protection from harsh industrial conditions. Some form factors provides superior cleanability by eliminating the ledge, which is required in aseptic areas e.g., in pharmaceutical plants. Industrial designs usually offer single-board computers and backplanes for greater repeatability. However, the majority of industrial PCs are manufactured with COTS motherboards.

After the rack mounted computer, Panel mounted computers are preferably chosen. It is typically composed of an LCD monitor incorporated into the same enclosure as the motherboard and other electronics. Panel PC often incorporates touch screens with virtual keyboard for user interaction.

Thomas Scott invites you to take a look at WinDom Co Ltd. Industrial computers come with various form factors such as standard 19-inch rack-mounted, panel-mounted, wall mounted, floor-post mounted, yoke mounted and so on.

GreenRushReview.com Reports on Nine Cannabis Related Factors Startups Need to Take Into Consideration

posted in: Cannabis 0

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) May 21, 2015

It can be difficult to start a business of any nature. Venturing into the legal marijuana industry, however, will most certainly lead to numerous challenges not encountered by traditional businesses. Green Rush Review, a marijuana business news website, identifies nine cannabis-specific factors that startups need to take into consideration.

Location

When starting a cannabis related business, one not only has to consider whether marijuana is legal in a particular state, but also has to check for any restrictions on cultivating or setting up shop. In Oregon, for instance, dispensaries may not be located within 1,000 feet of a primary or secondary school. Building landlords may also have opposing views on starting a legal cannabis business on their property.

Physical Requirements

State laws outline numerous requisites needed for a cannabis company to operate. According to a Mashable article, such investments in Colorado include a digital seed-to-sale tracking program, 24-hour video surveillance of facilities, as well as a quarantine section for edibles.

Advertising

Marketing cannabis businesses can be tricky, as they do not have the same advertising options that traditional businesses enjoy. According to Marijuana Business Daily, cannabis companies are restricted from advertising in TV, radio, print, billboards, Internet videos, radio shows, pop-ups, and flyers or leaflets among others. One therefore needs to be both careful and creative when marketing a cannabis-related company.

Storing Money and Paying Bills

As marijuana is still deemed federally illegal, marijuana businesses cannot typically avail of bank services. Cannabis entrepreneurs are thus left with limited options, and are generally left to transact in cash. Unfortunately, storing money in cash can be both a security and accountability risk. According to The New York Times, pot businesses are left to store their cash in safes, carry them in brown paper bags, and ferry them around by armed guards and armored vehicles.

Tax Implications

While the federal government may see pot as illegal, the people selling it are still left to pay their taxes. A CNBC article reports that the IRS does not allow the usual business deductions under section 280E. While the federal tax code allows deductions for the cost of growing recreational marijuana in Washington and Colorado, it does not allow deductions for the cost of selling it.

Employees

The marijuana industry is growing fast, and Esquire reports that jobs in the industry are everywhere. The challenge, however, is meeting special personnel requirements and finding employees who fit in with the company culture.

Associations

A marijuana business may benefit greatly from supporting or joining associations, organizations, federations, and clubs that promote an interest in the marijuana industry. There are numerous groups to choose from, including the National Cannabis Industry Association, NORML, and High Times.

Legality

There is always the risk of federal prosecution, even if marijuana is legal in a particular state. Although federal prohibition is not enforced on a state level, this may change at any point in time. A contingency plan must be developed in order to protect a business from a change in circumstances.

Competition

According to The Milbank Quarterly, tobacco companies have expressed interest in marijuana and marijuana legalization since the 1970s, and are modifying corporate planning strategies to prepare for consumer demand in the future. At present, big drugstore chains, cigarette companies, and other large businesses are forbidden from entering the still-developing marijuana market. At some point, however, this may change when the market normalizes and they wipe out small marijuana businesses.

GreenRushReview.com strives to be a convenient and reliable online resource for all marijuana consumers, entrepreneurs, and investors. The website aims to provide the general public with extensive coverage on news, opinions, and events on the multi-billion marijuana industry and culture in North America, including industry stocks, prices, implications, trend developments, investment news and legislation.
